The Evolution of a Bedroom

So, I took a little hiatus there. Unintentionally. My bad.

I'm back with the grand reveal on a little teaser I threw out the last time I blogged, oh, three weeks ago. Hopefully you figured out that this was a paint chip. We painted. On a whim. The entire bedroom.

I have been saying for a long time now that I've neglected working on our bedroom like I have the rest of the condo because no one else sees it. When we have friends over, we shut the bedroom doors, and that's it. Then, when we decided it was out with the old, uncomfortable queen sized bed and in with Russell, Will wisely said that if we were going to paint the bedroom, now (err... two weeks ago) was the perfect time. The bed was out of the room for a few days, and we could simply scoot everything else to the middle of the room and paint around it. So at 6:30 on a Sunday night we began, and we finished the next day after work.
So after about seven hours of taping, trimming, and painting, the walls were covered in Behr's Elephant Skin, paint I had bought, no joke, around 10 months ago with the intention to do this a long time ago. And I love it. I was a little nervous that the gray was going to be way too dark, but the room is huge and with some of the new accessories, it feels really balanced and relaxing.

I have every intention of showing the rest of the room, actually finished, unfortunately, I just killed my camera, so it's going to have to wait. Here, however, is a bit of the inspiration that helped create the room:

More later. And in less than three weeks. I swear.
