As I mentioned, my parents visited this weekend. I've talked before about my dad being super handy. He is. Luckily, he could help out with our little door fiasco. Mom is also really great about organizing and arranging things, so she usually has some good inspiration for making things around here pretty.
While I love my beagles, sometimes they do bad things. Very bad things. Like this:
That's what happens when one very anxiety ridden beagle gets out of his crate and tries to escape a closed door. He tears it to pieces. Thanks, Jack.
Luckily, Mitch happens to be handy with doors. So now, it looks like this:
I have also been wanting to do something about the mis-matched door knobs in the condo. A few were silver or brushed nickel, but most of them were, "Hello, I came from the 70s," gold. So, while we were at Home Depot picking up the new door, I picked up seven new knobs for our place. And then I decided while we were at it, the pulls on the bi-fold doors covering the guest room closet, linen closet, and laundry nook should go from gold to nickel as well.
Voila. Had I realized how much of a difference $10 door knobs and $2 pulls could make, I would have done this a long time ago. Not to mention how easy this was! Unscrew a couple things, rescrew a couple things, and BAM. New doors.
While painting the new door, I figured since I already had the trim paint out, I might as well go ahead and finish painting the trim. So I did that too. Whew. I'm tired again recapping it all.
Thanks, Mom nd Mitch for all your help. Couldn't have done it without you!!

That's an impressive both the damage job and repair job. I agree - brushed nickel over 70's gold any day!
He is pretty handy to have around! We really enjoyed our weekend!
